The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the apex body of Nepali football, is holding an emergency meeting today. The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. at ANFA.

Two main agendas have been set, according to ANFA spokesperson Kiran Rai, to discuss the recent controversy in Nepali football and the SAFF championship to be hosted by Nepal.

Abdullah Al Mutairi, the head coach of Nepal's national team, recently announced his resignation on social media, mentioning ANFA senior vice-president Pankaj Bikram Nembang.

Following the incident, Senior Vice President Nembang filed a petition with ANFA, requesting that the incident be investigated. Nembang has been claiming that it is wrong for the coach to involve him in the controversy. Meanwhile, head coach Abdullah filed a petition with ANFA on Thursday, requesting an investigation into the incident.

The dispute between the coach and the senior vice president is expected to be resolved at today's meeting. Al-Mutairi announced on social media that Nembang had been causing problems for three weeks and that he was about to resign on Sunday. He has not, however, submitted his written resignation.

It is also understood that ANFA's informal effort to reach an agreement between Nembang and Coach Abdullah was also successful as per the reports. Likewise, if Bangladesh is unable to host the SAFF Championship, ANFA is planning a later event in Nepal. However, due to the process and the Corona epidemic, the meeting will also have to decide on the financial risks of organizing it in a closed stadium.
