Kathmandu Metropolitan City has not set aside any funds for the Mayor Cup Men's T20 Cricket this time. The metropolis' municipal council passed the budget and program for the coming fiscal year with amendments on Friday.

The Mayor's Cup Cricket was added only last year. The document obtained by Neplays does not mention the budget and program while continuing the old sports.

The Kathmandu Metropolitan Corporation had provided Rs 5 million to the Nepal Cricket Association CAN for the first edition, despite the fact that the budget had not been released last year.

Despite the fact that it is not mentioned in the budget title this time, Rs. 50000000 has been set aside to provide grants to sports-related organizations, and it appears that this will be used.

The competition was held in the month of Chaitra. Officials from the Kathmandu Metropolitan City had expressed their commitment to organize a regular Mayor's Cup T20 cricket tournament from next year.

In the first edition, the winning team received Rs 500,000, while the runner-up received Rs 300,000.
